Cielo Dance Events Community Guidelines

At Cielo Dance Events, our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where everyone feels included and respected. Social dancing is about connection, music, and joy — but we also recognize that newcomers may sometimes misinterpret friendliness for intimacy. To protect our community and maintain positive experiences for all, we ask everyone to follow these guidelines:

Respect & Boundaries

• A dance is just a dance. Smiles, eye contact, or multiple dances do not imply romantic or intimate interest.

• Physical contact is only for leading and following. Any other use is inappropriate. Respect personal space and avoid unwanted closeness or touch. Groping or unwanted touch will not be tolerated.

• Always ask before dancing. Use a verbal invitation or a non-intrusive gesture (no grabbing). Wait for the response before heading to the floor.

• Consent is non-negotiable. No means no. Silence is not yes. Do not repeatedly ask someone to dance, share contact info, or have a drink.

Safety & Conduct

• Harassment is prohibited. This includes unwanted physical or sexual attention, inappropriate comments, intimidation, bullying, stalking, and unauthorized photos or recordings.

• Dance responsibly. Avoid unsafe moves such as lifts, kicks, or large traveling steps. Be mindful of the space around you. If you bump someone, apologize — and be forgiving when it happens to you.

• Drink responsibly. Excessive intoxication creates safety risks for everyone.

Health & Hygiene

• Personal hygiene matters. Please shower, use deodorant, brush teeth (or use mints provided by our attendants), wash your hands, and bring towels or a change of clothes if needed.

• Stay home if you’re sick. Protect fellow dancers by skipping events when unwell.

Community Responsibility

• Speak up. If your boundaries are crossed, let the person know when possible and/or report the incident to staff immediately. We are here to support you.

• Support each other. Together we can create a community built on respect, kindness, and safety.
